PICTURES FROM DES MOINES

Des Moines Iowa, city surrounded by the corn fields, located by two highly polluted rivers, a "place to grow" as the official slogan says. These pictures were taken mostly in the summer of 1999 and 2000, some of them later. I was fascinated by the deserted, dead buildings right in the city downtown, as well as the dead trees in the forest reserve. The latter reminded me some sort of Chernobyl landscape. City has changed somewhat since then, but first impressions are somehow the strongest. See more on Picasa album.

PICTURES FROM WARSZAWA

B&W pictures (and some color) taken in Warsaw, mostly in 1996-1998, color ones in 2007. I found interesting backyards in central area of Warsaw. Some pictures were taken in Lazienki park, the summer residence of the last Polish king from 18th century. See more on Picasa album.

PICTURES FROM WILANOW

Wilanow, residence of the King Jan III Sobieski and park complex from 17th Century. However only first pictures were taken in the park. Others - in the surroundings with the interesting ruins and trees. See more on Picasa album.

Old beautiful villas in Konstancin, a suburb of Warsaw, many of them in ruins now. The stunning ruins of old paper factory. Pictures were taken mostly in 1995-1996. See more on Picasa album.
